![]() About Me
Hello there! My name is Rachel East, and this is my first year of teaching. I graduated in the Spring, from Sam Houston State. I grew up in Cedar Park, Texas. Once I graduated from high school, I moved to Spring, Texas. I went to a local community college for a few years, and then transferred to SHSU. I am a member of an education honor society called Kappa Delta Pi, and am also a part of a new found fellowship program called the SHSU Literacy Fellows. Reading and writing have always been a passion of mine, and I plan to pursue my Masters in Literacy in the next few years. While this is my first tear teaching, I am so very excited to be working with your students this school year! I have so many wonderful things planned, and can't wait to get to know both you and your students! I can't wait to learn as much from them, as I hope for them to learn from me! Teaching Philosophy: I believe that every child can, and will learn. It is up to educators to find the best way to reach their students, so that every opportunity for learning, is given. I believe in celebrating mistakes, because it is through mistakes, that we learn. I also believe that it is important to move on from those mistakes, instead of making a home around them. "Keep Moving Forward." Rachel East [email protected] 936-700-8989 Conference Time: Monday-Friday 9:50-10:30 a.m. Teaching Partner: Marissa Koons Math & Science [email protected] |
